About Fahimeh
I am a postdoctoral fellow at NIH, where I have been working for the past two years. Before this role, I was a researcher and PhD student, and I have been working in my field for more than 15 years total. My major area of focus since my PhD has been 3D bioprinting, and I work in an interdisciplinary system that connects biology and biomaterials. In my current role, I am creating 3D disease models and conducting drug screening. I have gained extensive experience working at Radford University and have collaborated with MIT Harvard during my PhD project. Previously, I was affiliated with the Medical University of Mashhad, Iran, before moving to the United States. My field is medical biotechnology, and I have experience in multidisciplinary fields including biological techniques, biomaterial science, and engineering science. I am interested in working interdisciplinarily to fill the gap between biological and mechanical fields, as I understand that both are required for creating tissue models that can eventually go to clinical trials. I am familiar with many biological techniques and feel ready for my next journey in advancing this work.
