Her Story

About Faith

My career in events and marketing began through volunteering on my college campus at Villanova University, where I worked with reunion weekend and senior week. From there, I developed a deep love for events and continued volunteering after graduation for conferences like the PA Women Conference held here in Pennsylvania and the National Black MBA Conference. These experiences led me to decide I wanted to work in this industry professionally. Today, my main area of expertise is planning and coordinating events, as well as marketing. I help bring events to life from the day they're conceived and created, from the day that the vision is brought forth into the day that it's executed, and then I market those events. I work with clients who are about to get married and those having conferences, assisting with the creation, planning, and production of conferences, as well as different special dinners and receptions. My key responsibilities include planning, coming up with checklists of items that need to get done for an event and then executing on those items, copywriting, writing and editing content, coordinating and working with vendors, being a liaison for different vendors and stakeholders and partners, and providing leadership by leading different teams and making sure that different assignments are executed and different visions are carried out. One of my most notable professional achievements is writing my book, a 31-day devotional filled with prayers, scriptures, and stories from my life to encourage people in their walk with God. I've also successfully planned three weddings personally. I'm excited to be transitioning into a new role as game day and event staff with the Eagles. Currently, I serve as Vice President of Administration for Next Philadelphia, an Urban League of Philadelphia Affinity Group for young professionals ages 21 to 40, where I oversee our marketing, membership, fundraising, and social and culture chair committees.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Faith

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say God, and also my parents, my mom and dad, and also my siblings, my sisters. I have five sisters, so six girls total in my family. They have been really essential with giving me wisdom and insight as I journeyed through my different seasons of life thus far. My sister Charity has been a mentor to me, and my parents have provided invaluable guidance throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I would say definitely volunteer. Be okay with volunteering and learning what you like, what you dislike, getting experience within all different fields so that you know for certain what's for you. That's how I discovered my passion for events and marketing - by volunteering on my college campus and for various conferences. It allowed me to test the waters and find what truly resonated with me before committing to it as a career path.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say remain confident, remain encouraged, and again, be true to yourself. Know that your gift will make room for you, so just put your all into everything that you do. Don't doubt yourself or your abilities - stay authentic to who you are and trust that your talents and hard work will open the right doors for you.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value integrity, good character, and morals. I value kindness and transparency. I also value being authentic to who you are. These values guide both my professional work and my personal life, and they're reflected in everything I do, from how I work with clients and vendors to how I lead teams and serve in my community through organizations like Next Philadelphia and Hope for Hope Nonprofit.
