Her Story
About Faithe
Faithe Bewley has nearly 10 years of experience in the aquarium industry, with over 4 years focused on life support. She began caring for aquariums in high school oceanography classes and pursued her passion in college, earning a degree in marine science along with a certificate in aquarium science from OCC, a community college in Southern California. After gaining experience servicing aquariums for a company, she launched her own servicing business in Orange County to maintain aquariums for homes and businesses. She now works in life support at a public aquarium, where her responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing filtration systems such as pumps, filters, ozone, and UV equipment, performing water changes, and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal conditions for the animals. Faithe is a member of the Aquatic Animal Life Support Operators organization and serves on its Emergency Response Committee. She also volunteers at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, assisting with the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals including sea lions, seals, and elephant seals. She is a rescue-certified scuba diver who enjoys diving on weekends.

01What do you attribute your success to?
A passion for marine life and their ecosystems. Showcasing the beauty of the ocean in client homes and businesses allows people to see, learn and begin to understand a world they may not regularly see.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stand up for what you believe in, be loud and make sure everyone can hear you when you have input on projects, techniques, or anything regarding your values and your position.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You are capable and you will thrive, break through and show everyone why you deserve to have your voice heard. You worked hard to get here and you will continue to work hard to prove that women can be just as useful and successful in male dominated fields.
