About Fatima
Fatima Cabrera is Vice President of Provider Contracting with approximately 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has been in her current role since 2021. In this position, she sets the annual strategy for her team, helps execute that strategy, works on policy writing alongside the regulatory team, and becomes involved in escalations of negotiations. Her career path has been primarily in contracting, advancing from a contracting negotiator to vice president, with a brief earlier period spent in sales. She earned her degree in paralegal studies from Boston University.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it's curiosity. And authenticity.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd be curious. And, to be willing to learn, anything and everything, you just never know when, you're gonna find something that really interests you and speaks to you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The field is going through financial struggles post-pandemic, and so everybody is struggling financially. There are regulatory changes that are causing funding shortages as well.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being accountable, transparent, authentic, and resilient.
