Fatima Johnson (she/her) is a seasoned Community Engagement and Education Strategist with more than a decade of experience advancing equity-driven initiatives across education, nonprofit, and community-based organizations. Currently serving at Brightlane Learning in Indianapolis, she is recognized for her ability to design and implement inclusive strategies that strengthen organizational culture, expand volunteer and corporate partnerships, and improve outcomes for students and families impacted by housing instability. Her work centers on creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces where collaborative thinking leads to meaningful and sustainable community impact.

In her current role, Fatima leads cross-departmental DEIB efforts, secures grant funding, and builds strategic partnerships that drive growth in volunteer engagement and financial support. She previously served as Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager at Brightlane Learning, where she developed high-impact volunteer programs, improved retention, and expanded community outreach. Earlier in her career, Fatima held leadership roles at KIPP Indy Public Schools, where she co-founded KIPP Indy Unite Elementary and supported families experiencing homelessness, as well as consulting and mentoring roles focused on student recruitment, admissions strategy, and academic support.

Fatima is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at Marian University Indianapolis and holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from Indiana State University. Beyond her professional work, she has a deep appreciation for the arts, including theater, musicals, and visual arts, and enjoys sketching as a creative outlet. She is deeply committed to service and leadership development, serving as a Board Member for Reach For Youth, Inc. and participating in Leadership United through United Way. Guided by a passion for educational equity, creativity, and ethical leadership, Fatima continues to champion initiatives that remove barriers, elevate diverse voices, and create lasting change within the communities she serves.
