Her Story

About Fayola

Fayola Robillard is a pharmacist practicing in Broward County, Florida. She has been working in the field for nearly one year, having been inspired to pursue pharmacy since the tenth grade due to her love of chemistry and her cousin's career as a pharmacist. Robillard received her education at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy in Bradenton, Florida. She maintains active memberships in the National Pharmacists Association, the American Pharmacists Association, and the Haitian American Pharmacists Association. In addition to her professional work, Robillard hosts free NAPLEX clinical review sessions to tutor students preparing for their exams and volunteers with the Young Adult Ministry at Christian Life Center church. She attributes her success to Jesus Christ and emphasizes values of integrity, honesty, and transparency both personally and professionally, where she focuses on helping others succeed without leaving anyone behind. Robillard advises young women entering the field to find their community, be bold, and believe in their abilities, while noting that burnout and work-life balance remain significant challenges in pharmacy.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Fayola

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for him I don't know what I would... I don't know where I would be. I probably still wouldn't have passed, I probably would've just been very sad, depressed, and lost. But through his strength, through his power, I was able to get through one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I also have to mention my community, my girls and my family have been super supportive.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My friend Melissa said slow down. Ask for help. You're not by yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to find their community. Don't be shy. Be bold, don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something, because you can do it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The greatest challenge facing my field right now is being burnt out and work-life balance.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Personally, being submitted to Jesus Christ, being integral, reflecting the character that he is. Integrity is just so important, and honesty, and transparency. Professionally, helping people get to where they are, and not leaving them behind, making sure that everyone gets the same opportunity.
