Fayte Kline is a retail store manager for Dollar General, a position she has held for two years in the retail management industry. Her previous experience includes working as a roofer with her father, at TJ Maxx, and as an assistant manager at Sonic for several years. She identifies customer service and helping other people develop their skills as key areas of expertise. Fayte is currently obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration with a specialization in management and leadership from Capella University online. She supports her company's partnership with Feeding America to donate food to local communities rather than discarding it. Fayte attributes her success to the community that has supported her, which motivates her to achieve more. She values honesty, integrity, and service. In her field, she sees opportunities in addressing heavy technological advances and challenges in keeping up with rapid changes, requiring adaptability and stability. The best career advice she received was from her boss, who advised not to let the size and competitiveness of a company deter her from pursuing her goals if she puts in the work. She advises young women entering the industry to tell people what they want and ask for help to advance.

01What do you attribute your success to?
The community that helped me to grow. From my family, to friends and supportive colleagues.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My boss told me that although a company seems big and really competitive, not to let that scare me from trying to choose what I want, because I could do it if I put in the work.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Tell people what you want, and they'll help you get it, but if you keep it to yourself, silently doing the work's not gonna be enough. You have to ask for the help to get to where you want to be.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities include addressing heavy technological advances that people are still trying to catch up with. Challenges include times changing very quickly, making it hard to keep up, requiring adaptability and stability.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
