Fealofani Salausa
Fealofani Salausa is a nonprofit founder, community advocate, and fitness trainer based in Carson, California, with over a decade of experience in health, wellness, and grassroots community development. Her professional journey began after she transformed her own health, losing over 85 pounds, which inspired her to begin volunteering as a boot camp trainer in her local park. What started with just a few participants quickly grew into a structured community fitness program that attracted dozens of residents seeking guidance, motivation, and support.
As her fitness initiative expanded, Fealofani transitioned her work into broader community service and advocacy. She founded the Carson Fitfam Foundation and began organizing citywide park cleanups, free wellness classes, food distribution events, and family-centered outreach programs. Her work evolved from personal fitness coaching into large-scale community impact, including youth engagement, senior support initiatives, and civic advocacy efforts within local schools.
Her leadership approach is rooted in service, resilience, and lived experience. Fealofani has also played an active role in school advocacy, supporting efforts that led to administrative changes within local educational institutions. She has openly shared her personal challenges, including periods of homelessness and family violence, which she describes as fueling her commitment to healing through service. Today, she continues to focus on empowering communities through wellness, connection, and hands-on support programs.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my children and the strength they gave me during some of the most difficult moments of my life. Their support and lack of shame during our hardest times gave me the courage to keep going, even when we had to start over from nothing.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
While no formal advice was provided as a single quote, my guiding principle has been to consider how my actions impact the people closest to me and future generations. I learned to always evaluate whether my choices create positive or negative effects on the people I care about most.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to carefully consider the impact their career and life choices will have on the people around them and on future generations. Think about the ten most important people in your life and make sure your path reflects positively on them and aligns with your long-term purpose.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of my biggest challenges is managing the administrative and paperwork side of nonprofit and community work. I naturally operate as a visionary and action-driven leader, so handling logistics and documentation can be difficult without additional support.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me are respect, integrity, passion, and knowing my purpose. I need to feel connected to my “why” in everything I do, because without that, I am not able to stay committed to a path that does not align with meaningful impact.
