Her Interview
Ten minutes with Felecia C.
01What do you attribute your success to?
I'd say I attribute my success to, in part, my upbringing and the examples that were set for me, over the years, and just having that foundation to want to, not just do well, but be well, you know? And really take the time to, learn about certain topics in depth, and, also to just put my best effort into things that I choose to do. I love to research, I love to learn, I love to, really do a lot of reading, and then sharing that information as best I can, with others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I'd say is, Really pursue those things that you feel strongly about without letting anybody hold you back, whether it's yourself and any aspect of fear around what you're doing or other people and their viewpoints or opinions, but just lock in. So that if this is something that you want to do, then take it on and, you know. smaller pieces so that you can, you know, consume it more easily, and accomplish what it is that you, you want to. And be willing to be flexible in the process so that, you know, you can make the adjustments that are necessary in order to, to, achieve the end goal.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd say, just go for it, you know? Really be looking to, support other women and, share information, collaborate, keep a positive mindset and a positive attitude. And, really pursue your dreams. One young woman I knew, years ago, she used to say she doesn't just dream, she stalks her dreams, you know? So, that aspect of life where you have this dream or this passion that you want to pursue, stalk it down and just go for it. Do it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities, I'd say Well, I One huge thing I will mention is just, like, how things have changed so much over the past, you know, 25, 30 years in terms of just the way, business functions, the way we communicate with each other, and, do everything. So, in terms of opportunities, I say that AI has been a real opportunity for me. Just learning about it and getting to kind of know this new type of technical tool has been really, and useful from many different aspects. Also, opportunities that I've faced in my industry is just really, it's a well-known industry, and, they're Groups and organizations out there that, you know. work with people, or that you can learn from, and that things are just so accessible these days, in terms of learning and growing and really honing, any aspect of my career. In terms of challenges, that can come in many different ways. Sometimes I have such a, a, I would say, interest in so many things that I can easily get distracted, and these days, you know, that same access to so much information can just be too much, quite frankly. So, I'm regularly, like, you know, refocusing myself and just making sure that I'm doing my best to get done what I, I, I, I, was looking to pursue to get done within a single day, as opposed to, you know, just being all over the place. So, that can definitely be a challenge, with an industry and just everyday life, as well as really helping people to understand traditional Chinese medicine and, the herbal aspect from that standpoint.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Values that are most important to me are definitely my spiritual values in terms of, just really doing my best to make the adjustments within myself that are necessary from what I've learned over the years from studying my Bible, as well as It's really taking time to, have a positive impact, not only on myself and my household, but then others too, and doing my best to, just take the time that's needed to hear people fully and, And respond in a way that is useful and effective.
