Throughout her career, she remained dedicated to empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
Since retiring from clinical practice, Dr. Donald has continued her passion for service and education through new avenues. She teaches swimming to students ranging from four to seventy years old through WE Aquatics and is exploring opportunities to establish her own swimming instruction business in Virginia. Through both community service and mentorship, Dr. Donald continues to make a meaningful impact by promoting personal growth, second chances, and lifelong learning.

Ten minutes with Felicia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my upbringing and my parents. They were very involved in making sure that I got a good education and was self-sufficient. They were really positive in showing me the way. My father was really good with taking me on trips and introducing me to other countries and other cultures, which opened my eyes to the world. My mother emphasized the importance of being self-sufficient and not depending on anybody - that you have to be your own person. Those lessons from both of them shaped who I became as a physician and as a person.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just follow your passion, follow your love. Believe in yourself that you can do it. Don't have anybody knock you down, or if they say negative things to you, just brush that off and just do what you think you should do. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it.
