Her Story
About Felicia
I've been working in the customer service field since 2011 as an independent customer service agent with IvOps. My journey in this field actually started much earlier - I worked at the school board beginning in 1998, where I answered calls and worked with the school throughout my time there. Today, I stay busy by doing food deliveries as well as taking customer service calls. I get up in the morning, go out doing my food deliveries, come back, and then take calls throughout the day. My proudest professional moment is seeing where I've come from through doing customer service work. This field has truly helped bring me out of my shell and taught me how to deal with different types of people. While dealing with difficult customers can be one of the biggest challenges - and I'll admit, I hate dealing with the difficult ones - I've learned that everybody's not the same and you never know what they're going through. The opportunities in my field include when the company I work for offers me different types of call groups for extra money. Looking ahead, I'm interested in dabbling into investments while continuing to do what I'm doing now.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I'll give to my younger self is to not be afraid to challenge yourself, not be afraid to put yourself out there. It's okay to get out of your shell. You can become a much stronger and successful woman if you just get out of your shell and do the things that God has called you to do.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is, of course, dealing with difficult customers. That's definitely the biggest challenge I face. As for opportunities, when the company I work for offers me different types of call groups, that's a good opportunity for me. You know, it means extra money and the chance to expand what I'm doing, and those kinds of opportunities are really valuable in this field.
