Her Story

About Felicity

Felicity Johnson is an esthetician and massage therapist with eight years of experience who owns a spa. After being laid off from her corporate job for the second time in five years, she decided to pursue her interest in aesthetics by attending aesthetic school, from which she graduated in 2018. Nine months later she completed massage therapy school in 2019. She offers a range of services including all types of facials, corrective skincare, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, dermaplaning, sugaring, Swedish or deep tissue massages, and postoperative care. Felicity typically sees about six clients a day and provides package deals combining facials and massages. She maintains her professional licenses by passing state boards and completing continuing education classes every two years. She is a member of the Spa Boss Tribe and serves on the hospitality committee for the Alabama chapter. Felicity lives by the advice to always remain coachable and encourages others to continue their education to add value to their services.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Felicity

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The greatest piece of advice that I live by is to always remain coachable. Just because I've been in business for eight years doesn't mean that I know everything. And you can always learn something from somebody. So always remain coachable.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just as a business owner in general, I think that you should always continue your education. Don't get complacent with what you think you know. Always look for ways to add more value to your services by taking continuing education classes.
