About Fern
I am an environmental scientist passionate about protecting ecosystems and ensuring responsible land use through sound environmental assessment and field research. Currently, I work as a Project Scientist at Gosling Czubak Engineering Sciences, Inc., where I conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, delineate wetlands, collect soil and groundwater samples, and support environmental due diligence projects across Michigan.
My experience combines environmental consulting, ecological fieldwork, conservation education, and outdoor leadership. As a Naturalist with Grass River Natural Area, I developed environmental education programs and conducted macro-invertebrate sampling to support stream quality monitoring. I also served as a Trip Leader at the University of Michigan, guiding outdoor expeditions and delivering experiential education programs, and worked as a Recreational Ranger with the USDA Forest Service to promote safe and responsible public land use.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan with a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I am especially interested in environmental consulting, wetland science, ecological restoration, and environmental compliance.
I’m always open to connecting with professionals in environmental consulting, conservation science, and sustainability.
