Her Story
About Fernanda
I have been working in the insurance industry for more than 10 years, starting my career in Brazil before bringing my expertise to America about 4 years ago. While the market is different here, the industry remains the same. In my daily work, I handle policies for cars, houses, and everything in between, ensuring that if someone experiences a loss or has an accident, they have the guarantee by insurance that everything will be okay. What I'm most proud of is how I care about the Brazilian community, taking the time to explain everything to clients who don't know English very well and helping them get everything insured and properly taken care of. I believe the best coverage isn't the expensive one - it's the one that helps your family and your property. What makes my work fulfilling is that I genuinely like to talk to people. My clients are people with stories, and they need someone to listen to them, so I listen. It's easier when you like what you do.

Ten minutes with Fernanda
01What do you attribute your success to?
I like to talk to people, and this makes everything easier when you like what you do. My clients are people, they have stories, and they need someone to listen to them. So, I listen. That's what I think has helped me succeed - genuinely enjoying what I do and being there to listen to my clients and their stories.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best coverage isn't the expensive one. It's the one that helps your family and your property. This advice has guided how I approach my work and help my clients - focusing on what truly protects them rather than what costs the most.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Women need to know about everything in their lives. I've seen women who got divorced and they don't know about nothing - they don't know about car insurance, house insurance, and they're completely lost. So my advice is: understand everything, learn, and don't depend on your husband or whatever you have by your side. Because if you need something, you can do everything by yourself. Don't let yourself be in a position where you're completely dependent on someone else for this knowledge.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being honest is the most important value to me - being honest with the clients and being honest with people all the time. If you give wrong answers or if you lie in your answers, this will not help you in the future. Honesty is what guides everything I do, both professionally and personally.
