Fernanda Flores Ríos

Fernanda Flores Ríos is a dedicated geologist and educational facilitator based in Richmond, Virginia. She currently serves as a Facilitator of Educational Programs at Sacred Heart Center, where she develops and delivers adult education programs that empower learners and foster community engagement. With a strong background in geosciences and environmental studies, Fernanda brings a unique combination of scientific expertise and teaching experience to her work, helping individuals connect with both knowledge and practical skills.

Prior to her role at Sacred Heart Center, Fernanda worked as a consulting geologist in Mexico, leading environmental and geohydrological projects in Hidalgo and Veracruz. She managed initiatives addressing soil and water pollution, designed vulnerability maps to assess risk in local communities, and applied Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support sustainable development. She also served as a Bachelor’s Teacher at Universidad Politécnica de Piedras Negras, where she taught courses on pollution, geohydrology, soil remediation, and sustainability, while leading ecological programs to promote environmentally conscious practices.

Fernanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Instituto Politécnico Nacional and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Geosciences at the same institution. She is passionate about lifelong learning, community service, and the natural world, enjoying hiking, dancing, and staying active in her free time. Beyond her professional commitments, she remains engaged in volunteer work with Sacred Heart Center, where she continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
