About Fiza

Aspiring biomedical engineer and undergraduate researcher with hands-on experience in medical device development, biomedical research, prototyping, and community-focused engineering projects. Currently serving as an Assistant Project Coordinator with the Biomedical Engineering Society at the University of Houston, contributing to the Go Baby Go initiative by designing and prototyping assistive mobility devices and customized toys for children with disabilities. Experienced in CAD design, 3D printing, design iteration, and cross-functional collaboration to develop user-centered engineering solutions.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, supports research focused on neurostimulation-based medical devices designed to improve quality of life for elderly patients with spinal cord-related bladder dysfunction. Experience includes assisting with device development, tissue culture procedures, experimental preparation, data collection, AutoCAD design, prototyping, and technical documentation within a multidisciplinary biomedical research environment.

In addition to technical research experience, serves as an Admissions Ambassador at the University of Houston, providing guidance to prospective students and families while supporting outreach and administrative initiatives. Also works as a Child Development & Learning Mentor, creating engaging educational experiences, supporting neurodiverse learners, and fostering positive learning environments for children and adolescents.
