Her Story

About Frankie

I have dedicated 23 years to education, driven by my own experience as an at-risk child who was saved by a caring teacher. That experience instilled in me a deep desire to pay it forward and help others become better versions of themselves. I founded Dr. Bell Student Success Center, my own nonprofit, where I support students who have been identified as being on the trajectory of dropping out of school. Through this center, I offer services through churches and programs that provide life skills, math skills, and discipline training to help these students succeed. I work as a math coach for Griffin Spalding County Schools, where I train teachers on how to proficiently implement math strategies to improve student success in math. I also teach as an adjunct math instructor at Southern Crescent Technical College. Beyond my work in education, my husband and I are entrepreneurs who run a successful trucking business, and through our nonprofit, we offer young men the opportunity to intern and work with us if they're interested in the trucking industry. I'm also a preacher, a natural-born leader, and a former principal. I lead with passion and by example, always striving to help adults and children alike reach their full potential. I'm a singer by trade, though I followed a different path into education after my sibling's accident brought me back home. I've written five books, including my first book 'Choose to Win,' and I'm currently working on a book for schools and releasing a couple of songs I wrote. I do a lot of speaking, mentoring, and coaching to help people figure out how to become the best person they can be. My faith is very strong, and I believe that whether you choose to be bitter or better is a decision. I'm an overcomer, not because I haven't gone through a lot of things, but because I wake up every day and choose to be one.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you want to make an impact, not to impress, this is the field to be in. Not looking to impress, you're just looking to impact. And if that's what you're looking for, if they answer yes to that, this is the field for them. Just make sure that you may not always get the outward accolades. But, you know, that child that'll be 20 years from now, that'll come back and tell you how you had an impact on their life, you'll get plenty of that. Trust, people may not know what they need when you're giving it to them. Just understand that. They may not recognize what they need until later. It is the most rewarding field that you can be in, because you change lives.
