Her Story
About Gabriela
Gabriela Almeida is a senior architecture student at Kennesaw State University, where she also serves as president of the American Institute of Architecture Students. In this role, she acts as the primary liaison between the university and students while organizing events focused on professional development, career readiness, and connecting members with architecture firms and professionals. She recently completed an internship at HKS, one of the world's largest architecture firms. Gabriela was drawn to the field because architecture shapes the spaces where people spend the majority of their time, and she is passionate about designing environments that support physical and mental well-being. Her leadership experience has strengthened her ability to work collaboratively in team settings, a core aspect of architectural practice. Looking ahead, she plans to obtain her architecture license within the next five years while working at a firm, and she intends to pursue a master's degree to eventually teach and mentor the next generation of architects.
