Her Story

About Gabrielle

From a young age, I was that kid who talked a lot in school, not realizing that later in life I would go to school to major in communications. I've always been fascinated with the news and the media and reporters, and I've always been intrigued by stories and helping people to amplify their voice. I believe no one can really tell me about you better than you, and it helps me to see the human side of you and why you're doing what you're doing. I like to see why a person did what they did, to get the context behind the way they move and things like that to help them to cultivate that and to hone it into true power. So I help people, brands, and public figures to amplify their voice, expand their network digitally, nationally, and locally, be on media platforms, and help them to be seen in the proper light as the professionals that they are. I started my agency in 2013, fall of 2013, and had my first event in 2014 with Bloomingdale's and Bobby Brown Cosmetics. My second event was with Berluti Paris and Rolex Luxury Swiss Boutique, where Berluti Paris flew their shoemaker from Paris to the Miami Design District to show how bespoke men's shoes were crafted. I'm a Black sister from Overtown, Miami, which is the hood, and I have been afforded opportunities that people that grew up with me did not have, and that too is by the grace of God. I am a protector, I am a defender. I just do with my head down and just get the work done because I am a firm believer of not wasting time, because this is people's real lives. I don't do things for show or accolades. I just be in the field. God graced me with this talent that I have to make things elegant and to make it proper.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to moving in alignment with what God created me to do. When you move the way that God has you to move, meaning you're in alignment with what He created you to do, it causes you to keep going even when the odds are stacked against you, even when it looks like you're not gonna win or it may not work. If God is telling you this is what you're supposed to do, keep going. There's a pull within you that's pushing you to keep going, even on the days that you feel like you want to give up. God graced me with this talent that I have to make things elegant and to make it proper. I am a woman of faith, and I believe that when you know what your purpose is, you know what the divine have created you to do, it causes you to flow in an area or in a way that others won't be able to flow. You got the sauce with you. You got supernatural flow with you.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

For anyone who's wanting to get into my profession or any other profession, you gotta know first, is this what you really want to do? You have to know why you want to go into it and if it's a good fit for them. Going into something just because you see other people are excelling in it, or you may think that you may excel in it, maybe a waste of time because that's not what you were called or created to do. When you know what your purpose is, you know what the divine have created you to do, it causes you to flow in an area or in a way that others won't be able to flow. If this is something that you want to do, learn from those who are already doing it so that way you can avoid making minor mistakes that you don't have to make. This generation, just like my generation, the younger generation always feel as though they know more than the older generation and make silly little mistakes because they refuse to take on advice or wise counsel. Do your research. The Bible says count the cost, meaning plans for it. Where is your business plan? Put together a budget, get your ducks in a row with your paperwork. Don't start without having all of your paperwork in line to make sure that once it's time for you to go, you have your systems in place. You know how to do your new client intake, your new staff intake, your SOP, standard operating procedure. It lets people know from step 1 to 10, this is what we have to do and this is how we're going to do it, so that way once you're out of the picture, everything is running like a well-oiled machine.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I am a firm believer of not wasting time because this is people's real lives. I don't do things for show or accolades. I just be in the field and just do with my head down and just get the work done. I am a protector, I am a defender. I have been afforded opportunities that people that grew up with me did not have, and that too is by the grace of God. I believe in bringing people into rooms and spaces they wouldn't normally have access to. I bought the people directly to them, these folks who normally have secretaries who have secretaries, executive assistants that they would have to call, call, call, but I brought them there and allowed the folks who attended to mix and mingle with the guests. I believe no one can really tell me about you better than you, and it helps me to see the human side of you and why you're doing what you're doing. When you move in alignment with what God created you to do, you keep going even when the odds are stacked against you.
