Her Story

About Gabrielle

I came to real estate after nearly 20 years in brand marketing, where I worked at one of the top agencies in the world representing some of the world's most beloved brands. I started at the bottom and ended up running an office in the Pacific Northwest, working with incredible people and really innovative brands. When I became a parent, I realized I needed to make a choice on priorities and shift gears. Real estate has always been in my blood - my dad built custom homes and designed every home I lived in, he was a very well-known local builder, and my granddad was a realtor and developer. I have an uncle who's an architect and a cousin who's an architectural photographer. I initially stifled this interest because of the stigma many people have for the real estate industry, but I finally got over that assumption after going through a couple of purchases and sales with a local realtor. When I approached him about entering the field, he was excited and offered to pay for everything if I joined his team. I started with Keller Williams and closed 17 transactions my first year. After realizing I was on a path I had just tried to get off of - working in a highly transactional team - I made a move to a local boutique where I stayed for 7 years. Now I'm affiliated with the agency, a global brokerage. My backgrounds in television news, brand marketing, public relations, strategic communications, crisis communications, and storytelling have really helped me in real estate, as these are all territories I've spent a lot of time honing my skills in.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think it's so important, especially as a woman, to not lose sight of self and what we need in order to really feel fulfilled. That is going to be very different on the career paths that many of us are presented. I was presented with fame, I was presented with literal rock stars, I was presented with lots of money, and that wasn't what fueled me. I'm so grateful that I took the opportunity to really touch bases with myself and really evaluate what's gonna make me happy and what's gonna fulfill me. I think that having done that for myself, as hard as it can be, because we're under so much pressure with so many different hats that we have to interchange every day, I really am trying to stay true to me being my own North Star, because once that happens, everything kind of falls into place. It becomes so much easier, as far as just less friction, less tension, less feeling like you're headfirst into a hurricane. You definitely get the winds at your back, and life becomes much more fulfilling. If you can just take the opportunity to check yourself, to really look at yourself in the mirror and be like, what do I like the most? And make that your favorite hat, the one that you want to wear all the time.
