What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a 12-year career in marketing grounded in a strong academic foundation in public relations with a minor in marketing from Kennesaw State University, and shaped by impactful roles at organizations like Citibank and Apprenda Institute. A defining achievement was building a marketing team from the ground up—scaling it to 25 members and driving a tenfold increase in annual revenue within three years. I’m deeply passionate about marketing that prioritizes customer value, and I stay grounded through volunteer work supporting charities in Venezuela and Colombia, which continues to inspire both my professional and personal growth.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that you can build a successful career through hard work and dedication while still genuinely enjoying what you do. That perspective shaped my journey, especially in marketing, where I discovered a passion for creating, innovating, and having fun while working. It reinforced my belief that success and enjoyment don’t have to be mutually exclusive—they can go hand in hand.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to pursue a career that’s both successful and enjoyable—those two can go hand in hand. Stay curious, work hard, and seek out opportunities that help you grow and make an impact. Early experiences, like internships, can open important doors, and mentorship—both receiving and giving it—can be incredibly valuable along the way.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is not being able to help everyone who needs support, especially through mentorship and charitable efforts like the kits my husband and I create for children in Venezuela. At the same time, it’s also a major opportunity to create meaningful, personal impact through both my professional work and community involvement, while building stronger human connections in an increasingly digital world.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me is ensuring that everything I do adds real value to people’s lives. Whether I’m building campaigns, analyzing data, or creating ads, I always think about the end customer—how it will impact them and whether it genuinely meets their needs. I believe marketing should never be misleading, but instead help people discover products and services that truly benefit them, which is why I’m passionate about ed tech and fintech. Giving back is also a core value for me, whether through supporting charities for children in Venezuela, participating with my husband in holiday gift drives for underserved communities in Colombia, or mentoring through the FIU Women in Business program in 2021.
