Ten minutes with Gaby

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to hard work, relationships, curiosity and just being willing and able to take chances on myself. Throughout my career I've been someone who raises my hand and embraces challenges, but I also never want to stop learning from the people around me. I've learned that success isn't just about the results you deliver, but it's about the relationships you build, how you show up for others, and just the willingness to keep learning. I've also had to really step out of my comfort zone and have a lot of faith and trust in myself through new opportunities.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be confident in your voice. Ask questions, and don't be afraid to take up space. Sports and just life in general can be a very competitive industry, and you won't always feel like you'll have all the answers. As long as you're willing to learn and say yes to opportunities and just build genuine relationships with the people around you. And most importantly for me, being authentic and not feeling like you have to change who you are and what values you hold close to your heart in order to succeed. Be willing to advocate for yourself, and remember that you belong in the room.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities is really that continued growth of live events and the demand for more meaningful experiences. Fans want more than just the game. They want something memorable that brings people together. At the same time, our industry is constantly evolving, and one of the biggest challenges is staying ahead of those changing expectations from fans and consumers, and finding new ways to create value for them.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that really come to top of mind are relationships. I put a lot of importance on genuine connections, both personally and professionally, and I want to make the people around me feel valued, and that their voice is heard. Work ethic, I'm very ambitious. I'm willing to put in the effort to create opportunities for myself and for others. I want to continuously challenge myself and learn from the people around me, while also being someone that they can trust and they can rely on. I want to be viewed as someone that creates a positive impact on and around the people that I work with, and so I ultimately want to hold myself to just my true authenticity, my resilience, and reliability.
