Ten minutes with Gaby
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Having strong boundaries when working with community and people is key for self-care and mental health. Surround yourself with people who share your vision and values so you can trust and believe in each other. Make time for yourself, your family, and your children because when passionate about work it is easy to get absorbed and you need to draw a line to take care of yourself.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
As an immigrant from Venezuela, sharing culture and integrating into the ecosystem while learning local culture too. In photography, standing out with your unique creative eye among many artists. Using work to impact generations by documenting community stories so younger people see themselves represented.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Community and building genuine relationships. Adaptability and flexibility especially as an immigrant entrepreneur facing challenges. Being a team player. Having strong boundaries with time and family.
