Her Story
About Gayle
Gayle Hutchings serves as a notary offering services primarily from her home office in Austin, Texas. She transitioned into the notary business a few years ago as a part-time endeavor after a career working contracts as a technical project manager, a shift prompted by a church member and made more appealing by economic factors and the need for flexibility with family life. In her role, Hutchings values hard work, patience, and empathy, noting that appointments can extend beyond expected times due to paperwork issues or distractions, allowing her to assist clients personally with matters such as estates and adoptions. She contributes to her community as a board member of Front Steps, a nonprofit that assists homeless veterans, and maintains membership in the National Notary Association. Her mentor, who introduced her to the field and has over ten years of experience, continues to provide guidance on notary matters.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Just hard work contributes to that. Being able to have patience, you have to have a lot of patience in this role. And empathy. Sometimes when you get to an appointment that should take 20 to 30 minutes, it'll wind up taking a couple of hours due to distractions or paperwork issues.
