About Genesis
She is an accomplished public affairs, marketing, and communications leader with over a decade of experience in higher education, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors, currently serving as Director of Public Affairs & Community Relations at College of the Desert, where she leads public affairs and community engagement initiatives. Prior to this role, she served over six years at the University of California, Riverside in progressively senior roles, including Marketing Manager for the Division of Undergraduate Education and Director of Communications for the Office of Student Affairs, where she served as senior executive for communications, marketing, and crisis management, leading a team supporting 40 departments and planning major events including Convocation and Commencement. She also served as Public Relations Manager at the University of La Verne and as Sr. Public Relations Specialist at Loma Linda University Health. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from National University and a BFA in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations from Chapman University. She is recognized as a strategic, collaborative, and results-driven communications leader who combines deep expertise in public relations, marketing, and crisis communications with a passion for advancing educational and community impact.
