Her Story

About Genesis

At 18 years old, I started networking at my local chamber of commerce and doing informational interviews with professionals. Through the wisdom I gained, I was able to get the direction and confidence I needed to advance professionally at a young age. Today I am able to build authentic connections everywhere I go through the power of networking.

My speaking dream turned into a reality when I connected with Kevin Bracy, who was the mentee of (my favorite speaker of all time) Les Brown! Kevin gave me the steps necessary to become a public speaker. Since I was a child, I had a passion for public speaking and crafting speeches. As I harnessed that skill in Toastmasters, I felt that God called me to use that for my greater purpose to help bring the youth into light and to prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow. That led me to building my speaking brand without outsourcing any help but learning everything through mentors and online tools. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to speak alongside a 2X Olympic Gold Medalist and to over 4,000 youth. The youth will always hold a special place in my heart. I believe that we need the youth to step up and create a brighter future now more than ever!

A tremendous breakthrough occurred in my professional journey when I took on Ruthie Bolton, retired WNBA player and Hall of Famer, as my first marketing client. Beforehand I had done marketing internships, but I was desiring going the entrepreneur route and paving my own way. With Ruthie by my side, I was able to do just that! That opportunity created a ripple effect, and soon after, I was able to freelance, taking on more clients and gaining word-of-mouth marketing through the high-quality work I delivered. Since I was young, I have had a huge imagination but never knew that it would come into play with marketing. Today I love bringing out-of-the-box ideas to the table at Parker University, where I am the Marketing Coordinator, and I am thankful I get to experience my dream job every day I wake up for work.

I love embracing challenges so I can grow. As a student at Sacramento State University, I took on marketing internships and speaking opportunities, while earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Besides work, I enjoy spending time volunteering, traveling, spending time with my wonderful husband and family, doing ministry, mentoring the youth, and working on my passion projects.
