Her work reflects her strong belief that she is at her best when helping others succeed. Her professional background is complemented by seven years of service in the U.S. Navy as a Navionics Technician and Quality Assurance Inspector. Geneva's commitment to entrepreneurship extends into her broader community involvement. Her entrepreneurial leadership has earned significant recognition, including being named the 2025 Mississippi Vetrepreneur of the Year and the 2026 Mississippi Veteran Small Business Owner of the Year.
Outside of her professional commitments, Geneva enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, attending her children's school and athletic activities, traveling, RVing, and boating as a family, as well as performing in plays and musicals.
Her approach to life and business is grounded in balance, integrity, reliability, adaptability, and a practical willingness to learn from and solve problems.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Geneva
01What do you attribute your success to?
My husband was my first investor. He let me try this crazy idea out in his law firm when he remodeled his Biloxi space. He gave me the space and let me operate under his roof. After a couple of years he moved out and I took over that whole building, and then the second floor of another building he had bought, and recently I bought my own building in Gulfport. Without that initial support and investment I don't know that I would have made it because banks wanted cash flow guarantees I couldn't offer.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There's always a way.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For my particular industry, learn how to fix all the things because you can save a lot of money not having to call a repairman for every single thing.
As a business owner in general be adaptable and flexible. Adaptable to me means thriving and surviving in a situation not just making the best of it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Making sure everything runs smoothly so that my clients don't feel the pain. Making sure everyone can be productive, content and comfortable in the space. It's really glorified building maintenance - dealing with whatever crops up across all three locations like adjusting the air conditioning, room reservations, internet issues, and minor repairs. I work hard to ensure that when something breaks I am on top of it and getting it fixed as quickly and as quietly as possible.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Balance is incredibly important to me. I try to take Mondays off to get things done around the house and block time on my schedule for bookkeeping and other tasks.
Make time, make space, and don't let other people encroach on that space. Be fiercely protective of the time you need to operate mentally, physically, and professionally.
Integrity is very important. You need to do what you say you're going to do. Reliability is also key. If people can't rely on me then I'm out of a job.
