About Genevieve

Genevieve Perez is a health coach and the founder of the HELP Network nonprofit, which promotes Holistic Empowerment and Limitless Potential programming on a public health scale. She began her career in health after graduating from medical school in 2000 as an Army Medical Specialist. She later pursued an undergraduate degree in psychology and pre-med in 2002, during which she served as a research associate at UCSF in health psychology research. After working in various roles including as an executive assistant for the City and County of San Francisco and in training management at UFC Gym Sunnyvale, she returned to health coaching and integrative health. Perez maintains certifications as a DNS-certified exercise trainer with the Prague School of Rehab and with Precision Nutrition. In 2020, she was invited to serve as a subject matter expert for the NCCPT to help redesign their NCCA-accredited exam and was recruited by ISSA as a contributing author to a textbook on recovery specialization for personal trainers. She established her private LLC for training, health coaching, and consulting, and founded the HELP Network nonprofit to support human flourishing through strength from the inside out.

Ten minutes with Genevieve

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The greatest piece of advice was to just be myself, to just be who I am, be authentic. Each and every single person is a unique imprint of an individual. Trying to be anything but is doing a disservice to the world in terms of the beauty of the diversity and the different things that you can bring.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do your research, get really knowledgeable about what you want to do and why you choose nonprofit. Figure out what the legal base is of how you're going to operate, and know exactly what you're going to do to serve within your best capacity. Then go for it if it feels right to you.
