What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my entire 16-year journey in the oil and gas industry. I started out in sales as a ticket runner, and my employer gave me a shot. I improved quickly and became the top sales role, which showed me I was excellent at sales. I worked my way up at Sunbelt to become the Regional Sales Manager, overseeing territories from North Dakota and South Texas to Midland and New Mexico. What really stands out is that I achieved this at a young age while raising twin babies. I've also had success creating new businesses and selling them, and I've become known as someone who can join startup companies that weren't even present in the Permian and grow them into divisions that are still very strong and building. People love to bring me into startups to help them achieve their goals, and I usually do, so it works out for them.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay the course and never give up. I’ve learned that success doesn’t usually come overnight—it comes from consistent effort, resilience, and a commitment to growing through challenges. By maintaining focus on my goals, embracing setbacks as learning opportunities, and persevering even when progress feels slow, I’ve been able to build a meaningful and rewarding career. This mindset has taught me that persistence, patience, and dedication are just as important as talent or opportunity in achieving long-term success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in your abilities and know that you can achieve success. Stay confident, work hard, and take ownership of your growth—promotions and advancement come to those who are persistent, proactive, and committed to excellence. Seek out mentors, embrace challenges as opportunities to learn, and don’t be afraid to step into leadership roles. With focus, dedication, and a willingness to learn, you can build a rewarding career and move up the ladder just like anyone else.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Although I’ve only been in my current position for three weeks, I’m already seeing both exciting opportunities and challenges in the field. One of the biggest opportunities is the chance to make a meaningful impact early on, learning quickly and contributing to important projects that shape outcomes. At the same time, a key challenge is navigating a steep learning curve and quickly understanding the systems, processes, and expectations in a new role. That said, I’m loving the experience and find the fast-paced environment energizing—it’s a chance to grow, adapt, and make a difference from the very start.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me center around balancing a strong work ethic with being present for my family. Throughout my career, I've worked hard and received many sales awards for top performance, but I've also made it a priority to spend quality time with my children. I have twins, and I've been coaching my daughter's soccer team since they were about 5 or 6 years old - they're now 11, so that's been 5 or 6 years of coaching. I also help coach the basketball team. Beyond my family, I believe in giving back to my community by supporting our local police and fire department and doing work with my church. I'm pretty much that gal that just shows up when people need help. I'm a basic old-school kind of gal who values working out, hanging out with family, and being there for others.
