Georgine Ratelband is a fashion designer with 16 years of professional experience. Originally from the Netherlands, she pursued her passion for design despite initial family reservations and completed a bachelor's degree in fashion design at a design school there. Her thesis collection was purchased by a prestigious boutique in Antwerp, Belgium, marking the start of her career. Based in New York, NY, she has achieved notable recognition, including an outfit worn by Beyonce and a successful collaboration with the New York Knicks. She attributes her success to hard work, being systematic, talent, kindness, interest, and curiosity. Ratelband advises aspiring designers to gain experience working for others before launching their own label and emphasizes not giving up. She is involved in philanthropic efforts with Tina's Wish and Second Chance Rescue, and values honesty, loyalty, and dedication in both her professional and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say hard work, being systematic, of course talent, and I think being kind goes a long way, being interested and curious.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't give up.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice would be to work for somebody before you start your own label.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest opportunities are growth, more companies, growing employees, growing sales, more opportunities, more collaborations. Challenges include fulfilling orders in time and cash flow.
