Her Interview

Ten minutes with Geselle

01What do you attribute your success to?

My community. Without them I would not be as successful. There have been several times in my life that I have felt that I'm doing it on my own but looking back there were so many people supporting me cheering me on. I attribute any success to my mentors my family and my community.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Keep moving forward. There are two different roads you can take. Make sure you are proud of your accomplishments. The best time to make a change is now. Nobody will care as much about your career as you.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay hungry and get organized. Really keep your why in mind and get after it. Manage your calendar as quickly as possible.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Not enough time in the day especially as someone new in the industry who is highly motivated and ambitious. Chasing a lot of licensing and requirements. Need to take a pause and appreciate where I am to stay in a positive mindset.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Health. The older I've gotten the more I appreciate that including mental physical spiritual. Understanding what goes into your body and being cognizant of everything you are consuming so that it is positive and good for you.
