Ghada Messick: It means the world to me to be the influential woman of 2026 because I can tell and I give advice to all the younger women. I came here. 30 years ago, um. The language was weak, the accent I have very deep accent, I did not. Imagine I will. Be, um, a director of two boutiques, uh, one day because I felt like maybe I have some obstacles in life like my accent, language, and so forth, but by hard work and building the great reputation, um, my reputation became very, um. Great to the extent that owners of boutiques heard about me, heard about my name, know how hard worker, honest and ethical I am, so I always would get great job offers. I always get promoted. So I just want to give advice to younger women, stay focused, work hard, never let anybody stop you or tell you that you can't. Do it. You can do it. It all takes great motivation.

What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?

Ghada Messick: Stay focused, stay motivated. Um, if there is a will, there is a way. Work hard. Work hard, work hard. By working hard, you will fulfill your dreams no matter what the dream is. All what it takes hard working, integrity and motivation. That's all.

01What do you attribute your success to?



"I attribute my success primarily to a combination of perseverance, continuous learning, and the support of my mentors and colleagues. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced challenges that required me to stay focused and resilient, which helped me push through obstacles. I also make it a point to constantly improve my skills and knowledge, which keeps me adaptable and prepared for new opportunities. Additionally, having mentors who provided guidance and a supportive team environment played a crucial role in helping me grow and achieve my goals."



"I attribute my success too to a combination of persistence, motivation, and a clear vision of my goals. I’ve always believed in never giving up, even when faced with challenges or setbacks. This persistent attitude has kept me focused and driven to keep learning and improving. Alongside this, my motivation to continuously grow and achieve my dreams has been a key factor in pushing me forward. I also value collaboration and effective communication, which have helped me work well with others to reach common objectives. Together, these qualities have enabled me to consistently deliver results and I’m excited to bring this same determination and enthusiasm to your team."

My Advice for Younger Women Entering Luxury Retail


1. **Embrace Authenticity and Confidence** 

  Luxury retail is as much about building relationships as it is about selling products. Be authentic and confident in who you are—customers and colleagues appreciate genuine interactions.


2. **Develop Deep Product Knowledge** 

  Take the time to learn everything about the brands and products you represent. Luxury customers expect expert advice and a curated experience, so your knowledge will set you apart.


3. **Focus on Building Relationships** 

  Success in luxury retail often comes from long-term relationships with clients. Listen carefully, understand their preferences, and provide personalized service that makes them feel valued.


4. **Stay Resilient and Persistent** 

  The luxury retail environment can be fast-paced and demanding. Persistence and motivation will help you overcome challenges and keep striving toward your goals.


5. **Maintain Professionalism and Elegance** 

  Your appearance, attitude, and communication style reflect the brand’s image. Always present yourself with professionalism and grace.


6. **Seek Mentorship and Continuous Learning** 

  Find mentors within the industry who can guide you and offer advice. Stay curious and open to learning new skills, trends, and technologies.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

To address this, I’ve been focusing on enhancing our team’s product knowledge and customer engagement skills, ensuring every interaction feels exclusive and tailored. At the same time, we’re integrating digital tools to complement the in-store experience, such as personalized follow-ups and virtual consultations. This dual approach helps us meet evolving customer expectations without compromising the luxury service standard. 


While it’s a complex challenge, I see it as an exciting opportunity to innovate and strengthen our boutique’s position as a leader in luxury retail."



05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

"In my personal life, what I value most is balance and meaningful connections—whether with family, friends, or my community. I believe that having a strong support system and taking time to recharge helps me bring my best self to work every day.


In my role as a Director of Boutiques, I find the most value in fostering a positive and empowering environment for my team. I’m passionate about mentorship and helping others grow, because I know that when my team thrives, our customers receive exceptional service and our boutique excels.


These values—balance, connection, and growth—are deeply connected. They guide how I lead, how I prioritize, and how I ensure that both my team and I can deliver excellence sustainably.
