About Giana
Giana Dalben is a dermatologist based in New York, NY. She holds a liberal arts bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and a PhD, and she graduated from medical school in 2018. Dalben initially trained in family medicine before pursuing additional specialization in dermatology. Prior to her medical career, she worked as a schoolteacher for seven years while completing her graduate studies. Her interest in dermatology stems from a family history of skin cancer, and she remains passionate about skincare and treatment. In addition to her clinical practice, Dalben teaches residents and students, providing mentorship opportunities in her private practice setting.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't give up, keep going even if everything stands against you. Work as hard as you can. Look for opportunities, look for mentors, look for people who are similar to you. You have to fight for what you want. Get up early. If you don't get to sleep, if you don't get to eat, but you go for what you want, regardless of what life throws at you.
