Her Story
About Gianna
I attended a vocational technical high school from 2015 to 2018 where I took up dental assisting as a trade, becoming licensed in radiology, infection control, OSHA, and first aid. I worked clinically for about 2 to 3 years until I graduated high school. During my sophomore year, I went to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic as a missionary and was able to implement the first oral hygiene instruction program there. I was just 16 at the time, but I had just gotten my infection control license, so I was qualified legally to speak and educate the community on healthy brushing and overall dental health. I packed two suitcases of toothbrushes and gave them out to the community. After high school, I moved from Massachusetts to Florida and studied public relations and communications to test a different opportunity. I got my bachelor's in PR after 4 years of school, then worked as a social media manager and PR representative for a hair extension firm based in Boston. Right out of college at 22, I worked corporate in a women-led public relations firm in Fort Lauderdale, spent a year there, then branched off and started my own freelancing business, Gianna Rose Public Relations. While building that, I reached back to my dental background and worked at a cosmetic dental office in Boca Raton for about a year. Then a good friend called me and said she opened her PR firm and wanted me to be one of the lead publicists, and they work heavily with medical and philanthropy clients. Now I'm at Khanna Connections, a PR firm in Wellington, where I work with clients of all types across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Wellington, and Royal Palm. I maintain communications with my clients, create mutually beneficial relationships through partnerships, collaborations, and sponsorships, work with the media, go on air sometimes on podcasts interviewing different guests, help secure media opportunities for the clients I represent, help promote events and ribbon cuttings, and handle crisis management and overall image management. I'm also one of the editors of the Wellington Edit, a new and upcoming media publication in Wellington.

Ten minutes with Gianna
01What do you attribute your success to?
Jesus. My parents and friends who've encouraged and supported me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is probably just go for it. Your passion has to be in there, and if the passion is there towards a certain thought or idea, just act on it, because time is money. Even carving out that time and putting it towards building something that you'd like to do could make an impact. And even if you invest money in it, you can always make that back, but you will really psych yourself out if you never try.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find what you like to do and GO FOR IT. Pursue it. Don't think you always need to work for someone or some place just to "pay bills". We are all created with different gifts and talents. its up to use to take the chance and use it to help not only ourselves but those around us!
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Managing the unexpected. But its always possible.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Persistence, consistency, and faith.
