About Giavonna
Giavonna Moses is a senior legal operations and project management professional with more than 12 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across legal, government, compliance, and technology environments. She has successfully managed enterprise IT implementations, data migration projects, regulatory compliance initiatives, and operational transformation efforts within highly regulated organizations. Known for her ability to bridge technical, legal, and executive stakeholders, Giavonna delivers strategic solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, and support organizational growth. Her expertise includes program and project management, legal operations, stakeholder engagement, enterprise systems, and process improvement, with proficiency in Jira, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Project, and SQL.
Currently serving as Project Manager for the City of Baltimore Police Department through Concept Solutions, Inc., Giavonna leads enterprise-level IT modernization and data migration initiatives that enhance critical public sector operations. Throughout her career, she has held leadership and legal operations roles with Berkeley Research Group, McGlinchey Stafford, Butzel Long, and DLA Piper, where she supported high-value litigation, commercial real estate transactions, regulatory compliance, and organizational transformation projects. Her accomplishments include improving project delivery efficiency, coordinating SOC 2 compliance readiness, streamlining executive reporting, managing complex litigation workflows with exceptional accuracy, and supporting multimillion-dollar transactions and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Giavonna earned a Master of Studies in Law with a concentration in Business Law and Financial Compliance from the University of Southern California and an ABA Paralegal Certificate from Georgetown University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an active member of the Project Management Institute. In addition to her professional achievements, she is dedicated to community service through mission work in Africa, helping support initiatives that have provided a village with running water, a church, and a school. She is recognized for her integrity, collaborative leadership, and commitment to building meaningful relationships while mentoring others to explore diverse career opportunities within the legal and project management professions.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my interpersonal relationships and my ability to build and maintain them. I'm still friends with people I worked with since 2016 and from college. It takes effort and reaching out, and I don't like to forget about people.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is never think you're not capable and keep showing up. Someone told me you're capable of anything, you're really intelligent, and anything you want to do, you'll excel at.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find what you like. Explore, explore, explore. Don't be afraid to offer up help even if it's a team you're not assigned to. Be curious, ask questions. I tried immigration and didn't like the red tape and stress, but enjoyed commercial litigation, real estate, mergers and closings.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI adaptations are becoming popular quickly. Companies are putting AI-powered in their bios. I may need an additional certification to show I'm well-versed in AI for project management.
