A graduate of the New York Film Academy with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking, Gigi began her career in the film industry as a makeup artist before transitioning to assistant directing. Over the past three years, she has worked on more than 20 short films, as well as commercial and music video projects. In addition to her assistant directing work, Gigi has written and directed her own short films, with one recent project submitted to 25 film festivals and scheduled for a screening in Ohio. Her dedication to storytelling and meticulous craftsmanship continues to define her growing career in the film industry.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a lifelong passion for art and storytelling. My creative journey began as a makeup artist, which deepened my appreciation for visual expression and led me into filmmaking. Over time, I expanded my skills into producing, filming, and assistant directing, working across short films and music videos. I am especially proud that my short films have been selected for film festivals and recognized within the creative community. This continued growth is driven by my love for the craft, hands-on experience in every stage of production, and a commitment to bringing meaningful stories to life.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay grounded and lead with humanity. By being true to myself, treating others with respect, and remaining authentic, I’ve learned that meaningful connections and hard work can open the door to achieving anything.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry to prioritize their humanity and treat others with kindness. Follow your artistic passions, take bold chances on projects that inspire you, and stay true to the work that matters most to you.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, self-expression, and authenticity. I am deeply inspired by art in all its forms—whether it’s dancing, singing, journaling, or drawing—and I strive to bring that same passion and dedication to everything I do.
