About Gina
Gina Arredondo serves as a lead in retail merchandising and crew management for store remodels. She oversees crews working on projects such as Walmart remodels, ensuring schedules are met, times are accurate, and safety protocols are followed. Arredondo began her career as a merchandiser and advanced to her current lead position through determination and hands-on learning. She did not attend college and instead gained expertise through trial and error after her children were grown and she sought a new path following her divorce. Arredondo attributes her success to leads who took her under their wing and provided support throughout her journey. She values owning up to mistakes, taking responsibility, being honest, and maintaining integrity. Her advice to others is not to quit, even when facing setbacks, as the work remains exciting due to the variety of stores and projects encountered.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a couple of leads who took me under their wing and helped me keep going. They were my support throughout my journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is not to quit. Even when you mess up, you just gotta own up to it, and pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep climbing. Don't let it get you discouraged.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is not to quit, just to pick yourself up and keep going. You'll get there. It's an exciting job that doesn't get boring because every store is different, which kept me interested.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are owning up to my mistakes, taking responsibility, being honest, and having integrity.
