Her Story

About Gina

Gina Filiaggi is a seasoned sales and operations leader with nearly 20 years of leadership experience spanning retail, distribution, customer service, and public-sector work. She currently serves as a Territory Sales Manager at PepsiCo, where she leads a team of sales representatives and merchandisers while overseeing approximately 400 customer accounts. Her responsibilities include driving revenue and market growth, strengthening customer relationships, ensuring effective merchandising and service, identifying incremental sales opportunities, and managing day-to-day sales and operational performance.

Before joining PepsiCo, Gina spent nearly 14 years with Wawa, advancing to General Manager and overseeing one of the company’s busiest stores. In that role, she managed store operations, profitability, staffing, customer satisfaction, sales strategy, and team development. Her leadership contributed to sustained million-dollar monthly sales, while her ability to manage large teams and complex operations strengthened her expertise in P&L management, performance optimization, and employee development. Earlier in her career, Gina served five years as a Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Delaware, where she developed skills in case management, risk assessment, investigation, compliance monitoring, and professional communication.

Gina holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science and brings a distinctive combination of analytical thinking, operational discipline, sales leadership, and people development to her work. She credits her success to a strong work ethic, collaboration, openness to input from her team, and a commitment to honesty and integrity. With extensive Fortune 500 and retail leadership experience, Gina specializes in territory sales management, revenue growth, customer success, team leadership, and operational excellence, consistently focusing on building strong relationships and developing high-performing teams.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Gina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my strong work ethic, persistence, and determination. I’m a “nose-to-the-grindstone” person who doesn’t give up easily, especially when faced with challenges. I believe in getting back up after setbacks, staying open to asking for help, and valuing collaboration. As a leader, I strive to maintain that same hardworking spirit, humility, and willingness to learn from others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to slow down. In fast-paced environments, it’s easy to feel pressured to solve every problem immediately, but taking a step back and assessing the situation can lead to a better solution. I’ve learned that slowing down, especially during challenging moments, helps me think more clearly, respond thoughtfully, and make better decisions.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to never let anyone dull your sparkle. Stay true to your individuality, speak up, and never feel that you are less capable because you’re working in a male-dominated environment. Your ideas and contributions matter, so have confidence in yourself, know your worth, and always strive to be the best you can be.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field is adapting to how quickly technology, social media, and consumer expectations are changing. Established companies have a strong foundation, but there is a real opportunity to embrace digital tools, modern marketing, and new ways of engaging with customers. I believe taking that step forward can help the industry stay relevant, improve the employee and customer experience, and create meaningful business growth.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are the most important values in both my work and personal life. I believe in taking accountability for my mistakes, being transparent when I need help, and having the humility to ask for input. I also value collaboration and believe that setting aside ego, listening to my team, and seeking different perspectives leads to better decisions and stronger relationships.
