About Gina
Gina Stewart is an accomplished entertainment professional and creative leader with a career spanning nearly four decades. She entered the entertainment industry in 1987 while studying acting in college and has since built a diverse career across film, television, theatre, music, and audio production. She currently serves as Executive Director of Visart, a Charlotte-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to film, video, creative programming, and community engagement.
Gina’s career includes extensive work as an actress in regional theatre, film, television, and Off-Broadway productions, with appearances on The Walking Dead and the Grand Ole Opry. She is also a musician, singer-songwriter, composer, sound engineer, and audio producer. Gina composed the score for the independent film Aphasia and spent 25 years performing with the Doubting Thomas Band, collaborating with Brenda Gamble and contributing to approximately 400 original songs.
Gina attributes her success to mentors, hard work, determination, and staying open to new opportunities. She encourages aspiring creatives, particularly women entering the entertainment industry, to say yes to opportunities, remain curious, and embrace their unique creative gifts. Through her leadership at Visart and her continued artistic work, Gina combines creativity, collaboration, and community engagement to support artists and create meaningful experiences for audiences.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the mentors who have guided me along the way, combined with my passion, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to say yes to opportunities and stay curious. Being open to new experiences and continuously learning has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Everyone has a unique gift and purpose. If you have a dream within you that inspires you to move forward, believe in it, pursue it, and do it.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value people, positivity, and positive energy in both my work and personal life. I believe surrounding yourself with uplifting people creates a supportive and productive environment.
