Gina Villanueva has dedicated 23 years to the food services industry, advancing to roles as team lead and assistant management over 14 years. Her passion for interacting with people and ensuring customers leave with a smile has driven her career, leading to promotions that allow her to connect more deeply with guests and improve their experiences. Gina has received notable recognition through awards such as medallions, having her name displayed on flags, and plaques from at least three or four flights. Outside of work, she volunteers at schools through the Children with Books after-school program, helping children read. She attributes her success to consistently leading by example and encouraging others never to give up, a trait that has led colleagues to call her sunshine. Gina values respect, maintaining a positive attitude, and staying happy no matter the circumstances, advice she extends to never letting anyone diminish one's dreams.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Being able to continue showing and leading by example, showing others never give up, always keep going. Others try or follow what I do. Called sunshine by others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
No matter how small your dream is never give up. You'll never know how big it'll become. Not to let anyone take anything like that away from me.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest opportunity is continuing to show into each other's, help us stay and remain calm and collect all the information to reassured to hold on to the hospitality. Challenge is maintaining and keeping the hospitality when people and customers become difficult.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
At work, always have respect. Never let anyone take away from what you do and what you love to do. Always keep a smile no matter what. It's not the end of the world. Always stay happy.
