Gina Wuertzer

Gina Wuertzer serves as Trauma Program Manager. She has been a nurse for 30 years and an emergency department and trauma nurse for 29 of those years, with trauma program administration experience dating back to 2008. Her career path began with an anthropology major, after which she pursued nursing, earning a diploma and then a bachelor's degree. She later completed a master's in business, which provided her with new perspectives and skills outside her initial comfort zone. She is currently based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and has previously worked in rural northern New England at a Level 1 trauma center where she progressed through roles including injury prevention and outreach coordinator, clinical nurse registrar, and performance improvement coordinator before advancing to program management.
