Q

What do you attribute your success to?

As simple as it may sound, I attribute my success to something I was taught as a child, and that is to treat others the way you want to be treated no matter where you may find yourself.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to not let someone elses bad day become your own. We never know what someone is going through when they walk into our stores. Keep your calm as much as possible in intense situations because in retail you will almost always have at least one or two upset customers you will have to speak with. Remember that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to as long as you put in the appropriate effort for it. Not every customer will have faith in your knowledge or abilities until you provide them otherwise.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in my field right now is finding the right team to rely on. In retail being one associate short can cause a disruption of services from one end of the store to the other. Finding a good group of people that work well together and can accomplish the tasks together is important.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is one of the most important values I live by in work and personal life.
