About Ginny
Ginny Kasparson serves as terminal manager for a dry bulk company in the transportation industry. With 15 years of experience in the field, including the most consistent stretch of 8 years, she oversees a team of 112 drivers who deliver to customers throughout Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida. Her responsibilities encompass the full operation of the terminal, including customer relations, driver management, dispatch, and maintenance. Ginny holds a high school diploma and has completed some college courses. She attributes her success to a relentless drive instilled by her parents, noting that she does not know how to quit and constantly pushes to complete what she needs to. Among her professional achievements, she has revamped the dispatch setup to incorporate a tier system that creates room for advancement within dispatch. Ginny values honesty and giving 100 percent effort at all times, advice she extends to young women entering the field by encouraging thick skin and full commitment. She identifies communication as a key challenge in transportation despite numerous available tools.

01What do you attribute your success to?
It's not that I don't know how to fail, I just don't know how to quit. I constantly push to complete what I need to. I got that from my parents who instilled that in me since I was a kid.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Choose your hard.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have thick skin. Be willing to give it 100%, because anything less than that is gonna be difficult.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Communication. We have so many forms of doing it, but it seems to be the one thing that pretty much everyone has a hard time with.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and give it 100% all the time.
