About Ginny
Ginny Mckay serves as Vice President of Operational Delivery at ObjectiveHealth. She has held this position since March of the prior year, following her role as Executive Director of Operational Delivery. With over two decades of experience in the clinical research industry, she began her career working in behavioral research at Duke University. She then joined PMG Research, an independent clinical research network, where she started as a clinical research coordinator, became ACRP certified, and advanced to site manager at the Winston-Salem, North Carolina location. Over her 23 years with the organization, she developed a comprehensive training and competency process for all sites as the network grew to 14 locations. After a period away following the company's acquisition by a larger CRO, she returned to the industry on a contract basis to revise SOPs at her current organization before taking on broader operational delivery responsibilities. Her work has included oversight of project management, large trials, and vaccine development efforts such as the Pfizer COVID vaccine studies.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, to anyone starting out, you just have to have a genuine curiosity. If you love to learn, this field will embrace you. The people that work in this industry will embrace you. We love to help people learn and figure this out. I think we're very good at that. We're very good at coaching, helping people along the way. You won't find anyone who works in clinical research that doesn't love to mentor. And so... Really? I just think... really, just having a genuine curiosity will get you very far. If you are curious, if you have empathy, if you really care about patients, there's a lot to be accomplished here. But if you do not like learning, and... I can figure it... regimented day, it's probably not the space for you.
