About Gladys
Gladys De La Cruz is a business owner in the retail industry based in Delano, California. She opened a restaurant in 2021 during the pandemic and later transitioned to operating a seasoning business focused on seafood boil products under her brand Crabbylicious. She sells her products through Amazon, Shopify, and Walmart, with plans to expand into retail stores. As a dedicated entrepreneur, she is passionate about creating quality products,
supporting her community, and inspiring other women in business. She is also a member of a
religious organization and proudly supports the Cancer Society.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, hard work, and believing in myself and my vision even when no one else did. I also stay committed to delivering quality products that people love and never stop learning and improving.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Keep going, even when there are many challenges and problems. Persistence and determination will take you far.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in yourself and your dreams. Don't be afraid to start small, learn as much as you can,
and stay focused. Surround yourself with positive people, and never give up on your goals.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is standing out in a competitive market, especially as a small business competing with larger, established brands. At the same time, this creates an opportunity to be different, build genuine relationships with customers, and grow through e-commerce and retail. I see every challenge as an opportunity to learn, improve, and take my business to the next level.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, family, integrity, hard work, and perseverance are the values that guide me both personally and professionally. I believe in treating people with respect, staying true to my values, and continuing to move forward even when life becomes difficult. Success is important to me, but so is being a good example to my children and using my journey to inspire other women to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.
