Her Story

About Gloria

I have been a paralegal for 7 years today at Yang Law Offices, starting as an intern in an administrative role and working my way up to handling and supporting California attorneys. My main areas are business litigation and family law. I have a legal assistance certificate and am finishing my associate's degree in paralegal studies at College of the Canyons this fall before transferring to Santa Ana College for my bachelor's. I also completed an intrapreneurship training program at Claremont College. I belong to LAPA and NALA. My boss Elizabeth Yang has been a key mentor.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Gloria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my drive in succeeding and the endless possibilities that can occur. My drive is what fuels me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is not to reinvent the wheel, because there's not a need to reinvent the wheel oftentimes.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise to ensure your grit endures along the way and that you don't lose the grit, because if you do then you could tumble, and you don't want that to happen for yourself and clients.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The challenge is staying up to date with the trend, especially AI. Learning how to adapt in an evolving technological world while staying ethically bound to our practice and clients has been a learning curve, but it's a blessing in disguise that helps streamline work.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and honesty are important values in the workplace and in personal life. Being mindful of what you're doing behind closed doors creates a strong foundation.
