About Gloria
Gloria Dickerson serves as CEO and founder of We Together Create and Change, a nonprofit organization based in Drew, Mississippi. She has worked in the nonprofit field for about 20 years, focusing on youth development through skill-building classes, educational opportunities, and sharing her lived experiences to help young people overcome adversity and achieve success. Prior to this role, Dickerson spent 30 years as a certified public accountant, performing accounting work, financial management, office management, and administrative duties, including as vice president of finance. Her background in accounting and philanthropy has equipped her with strong financial management skills that support her nonprofit operations. Additionally, she has served as a member of the County Board of Supervisors for the last 10 years, driven by her commitment to community service and justice.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If you really want to do something and have that will and determination to do it, that it can be done. Believe that it can be done. As long as you believe it can be done, you go for it, and work for it, it's gonna happen.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The answer to how is yes. If you want to do something, yes, I can. Just go for it and believe in it. Believe in your goal, follow your dreams.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Everybody deserves a chance. Everybody's capable if they get the opportunity. Teach people how to just really love who they are. Everybody's important, everybody's valuable.
