Gloria Pinkney

Gloria Pinkney, CPM®, is an accomplished Operations Liaison at Cortland, based in Boca Raton, Florida, where she oversees operations across 30 communities. With over eight years of experience at Cortland, Gloria leads initiatives to drive operational excellence, improve customer experiences, manage budgets, and ensure teams consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators. She collaborates closely with Community Managers and maintenance teams to identify risks and implement continuous improvements, ensuring the highest standards in property management.
Prior to her current role, Gloria held progressive leadership positions within Cortland, including Senior Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager. Her extensive background in asset management, team leadership, and operational analytics allows her to effectively balance strategic planning with hands-on management. Outside of property management, Gloria has also demonstrated strong leadership as General Manager of the Improv Comedy Club, where she honed her skills in team development and customer engagement.
Gloria is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) through the Institute of Real Estate Management and holds a background in Secondary Education and Teaching from Palm Beach State College. She is also a Notary Public, showcasing her commitment to professionalism and attention to detail. The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “Don’t ever doubt yourself.” It reminded me to trust my abilities, even when facing uncertainty or challenges.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: just do it. Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back—step in with confidence and take every opportunity to learn and grow.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the saturated market. With so many qualified individuals, it’s more important than ever to find ways to stand out—whether through continued education, building strong networks, or developing a unique personal brand.
