About Gloria
My sister and I started Urbano's cleaning company five years ago from nothing. We began with a $3,000 SUV and $40 vacuum, working out of our garage. I left my job at the VA after seven years because there was no room to grow despite being bilingual and handling extra work. We now have over 300 clients, 50 commercial accounts, 19 employees, a 3,000 square foot office, and we also handle laundry for our 10 Airbnbs. Everything is word of mouth, no Google or sales reps. We focus on training our team of mostly Spanish-speaking women and giving back to the community with free or discounted cleanings for schools, elderly, and single moms.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Vision and determination. I always had a clear vision of where the company was going, from starting small to having teams, an office, and multiple locations. I pulled my sister in and felt responsible to make it work through learning from mistakes and hard work.
