Her Story
About Grace
Grace Eppolito is a biotech professional with over 8 years of industry experience. She earned her PhD from UMass after majoring in bio and participating in the new Biochem and Molecular Biology program. Her career path has taken her through several areas of lab-based work, beginning with producing monoclonal antibodies using CHO cells and bioreactors. She then moved into genetic therapy, working with viral vectors and similar bioreactor systems. Most recently in the lab, she focused on cell therapy, taking stem cells from umbilical cord blood and expanding them to create natural killer cells for cancer treatment. She now works in business development for a larger life science company based in San Francisco, drawing on her broad industry experience to connect with customers and partners. Outside of her professional roles, she participated in Projects Abroad Mexico, staying with a local family to deliver basic healthcare services to rural communities.
